Colleen DeGennaro
Colleen DeGennaro is a New York City-based performer. Born and raised in Yonkers, NY, Colleen trained classically in Voice for over a decade before earning dual Bachelor’s degrees in English and Musical Theatre from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. She continued her training at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, taking a focused approach towards craftwork in contemporary, classical, and devised theatre.
Colleen performed internationally at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2023 and 2024, where she cultivated a deep love of new play development. She is particularly interested in highly collaborative theatre that fosters real connection between audience and artist, especially through comedy and absurdism.
Outside of the arts, Colleen has worked professionally as a preschool teacher — an experience she credits as formative in developing her understanding of the human condition (and her patience). Her passions include murder mystery novels, the New York Times Crossword, and making hyper-specific playlists that fit each of her moods.
