Tyrone Henderson

Henderson’s N.Y. Acting credits: : Much Ado About Nothing at the Delacorte Theater directed by Kenny Leon, Yellowman (The Billie Holiday Theatre) Rancho Viejo (Playwrights Horizons), The Piano Lesson (Signature Theatre), Bring in ‘da Noise Bring in ‘da Funk-national tour, and The Tempest (Patrick Stewart) directed by George C. Wolfe, The America Play, Two Noble Kinsmen, The Public Sings (Public Theatre), and King Lear (with Tony, Grammy and Emmy award winner Billy Porter).   

Television: Recurring role as Equity Partner: Barry on The Good Fight. Other credits include Madam Secretary, The Code, FBI, Search Party, God Friended Me, Sneaky Pete, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Elementary, Unforgettable, The Following, Boardwalk Empire, Suits (PILOT), Law and Order (franchise trifecta – six episodes) Film: The Upside (2019), Ride for Your Life, and The Treatment. 

Regional Theatre Credits: World premieres of Redwood, War, Aubergine, The Magician’s Daughter and West Coast premiere of Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures. Highlights include: Topdog Underdog-directed by Billy Porter, Angels in America – first regional theatre production, directed by Kenny Leon, and Blues for an Alabama Sky (with Phylicia Rashad and Crystal Fox)   

Tyrone has been nominated for the following awards: Eliot Norton (outstanding lead actor Topdog Underdog – dir. Billy Porter) SUZI Bass (lead actor Blues for an Alabama Sky), Theatre Bay Area, Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle (featured actor – Aubergine) Two-time Lead Actor Audelco Awards(Mama’s Little Boys, and Yellowman) and Featured Actor in a musical Much Ado About Nothing.  

Tyrone is the recipient of the following awards, Dallas Theatre Critics and Leon Rabin Award (featured actor Belize – Angels in America).
