Ric Ryder

  • Musical Theatre

Ric Ryder has appeared on Broadway seven times, creating roles in original casts and directed by some of the theatre’s most prolific Tony Award winners like Tom O’Horgan, Susan Stroman, Graciela Danielle and Tommy Tune. Some highlights include starring opposite singer/songwriting legend, Carole King in Blood Brothers, Grease! (w/ Rosie O’Donnell), Bill Finn’s A New Brain at Lincoln Center and the Dreamgirls 20th Anniversary Concert on Broadway. Also, Variety said “Ryder is a truly thrilling singer…” in the title role of Jewish Reps world premier production of The Jazz Singer. He’s crisscrossed the nation in Broadway national tours, played many of the nation’s finest regional theatres, appeared in sold out NYC cabaret/concert venues and can be heard singing in Disney animated feature films. 15 years ago Ryder began teaching what he knows to other professionals, aspiring professionals and young enthusiasts at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, CAP21, Catholic University, historic Jacobs Pillow (Chet Walker’s Jazz Musical Theatre Intensive) and in master class settings throughout the US, South America and Europe. Ryder teaches voice privately and coaches his client base in two locations; here in NYC’s Hell’s Kitchen and in his native Baltimore/Washington. Education; Peabody Conservatory, BA in Music/University of MD Baltimore County. www.RicRyder.com
