Alumni Council (SASAC)

Maricruz Menchero

Maricruz is thrilled to be an inaugural member of the Stella Adler Studio Alumni Council! Although her first introduction to Stella was inarguably through a well placed digital ad, it was fate that ushered her to the audition room. It was a rainy weekend in San Francisco. Maricruz was auditioning for acting programs, and the restrooms on the floor she was on were out of order. In search of a place to relieve herself, Maricruz climbed a flight of stairs and asked a bespectacled man sitting behind a desk for directions. “The restrooms are over there,” said Ryan Chittaphong, “but, afterwards, you should audition for Stella Adler.” The rest is history.

Maricruz is a 2017 graduate of the Stella Adler Evening Conservatory. She considers Stella to be her artistic home in New York City; the graduates some of her closest friends and collaborators. Upon completion of the program, Maricruz continued her studies at The Theater School at DePaul University, where she graduated with an MFA in Acting. (Fun Fact: Maricruz also holds a Bachelor in Architecture from The University of Notre Dame. She worked professionally as an architect during the day while attending the Evening Conservatory.)

Since moving back to New York City, Maricruz has been expanding her voice over career, reading books to become more financially literate, and learning how to craft an artistic life that complements her actorly pursuits. You can catch her as the Spanish voice over talent in T-Mobile’s latest commercial campaigns!
