As a director Kern has been working at the studio since 2016. In addition to other professional directing he has also helped direct and develop a new play for the Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis based on the young adult novel The Thousand Natural Shocks. Kern is also the writer and creator of the independent web series #ThatThingFromBefore, for which he is currently in production for season two. Kern holds an MFA from the USD/Old Globe Actor Training Program and a BFA from The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University.
