Gigi Bermingham

  • Theater Audition Technique

Gigi Bermingham is a film/TV/stage actor as well as a teacher, theater director, and journalist. She is based in Los Angeles. Her mother was French and Gigi is trilingual English-French-Spanish. www.GigiBermingham.com/ Recent Film: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; Amsterdam; The Out-Laws (Netflix). TV: “The Sterling Affairs,” “The Terminal List,” “Loot,” “Platonic,” “S.W.A.T.,” “NCIS:L.A.,” “American Horror Stories,” “Jane the Virgin,” “Marvel: Agents of Shield,” “Adam Ruins Everything,” “Scandal,” “General Hospital,” “Weeds,” “Third Rock From the Sun,” “Beverly Hills 90210,” etc. Theater: Gigi has appeared on many southern California stages including Pasadena Playhouse, Old Globe, Center Theatre Group’s Kirk Douglas Theatre, La Mirada, International City Theatre, Ensemble Theatre Co., MainStreet Theatre, Rubicon. She is a member of Antaeus Company where she has performed in Native Son, Picnic, Cloud 9, Mother Courage, and The Seagull among others, and where she directed You Can’t Take It With You. Awards: Numerous theater awards include two L.A. Stage Alliance Ovation Awards: Leading Actress for the role of Maria Callas in Master Class at International City Theatre Long Beach, and Solo Performance for her multiple-character comedy Non-Vital Organs (also L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award). Teacher: Gigi teaches and coaches privately and at several L.A. studios. Her methods are influenced by Stella Adler, Uta Hagen and Stanislavski with emphasis on text analysis, inner life, and emotional connection.
