Elizabeth’s passion for Shakespeare was much enriched by her mentor at Bristol University: Dr. Bertram Joseph, author of Acting Shakespeare. Her long and distinguished theatre career started in English repertory and appearances in London’s West End (Inherit the Wind, War and Peace, Period of Adjustment). Since emigrating to North America, her Broadway credits include Conduct Unbecoming, Relatively Speaking, She has worked at many regional Theatres: Arena Stage Washington, Walnut St Philadelphia, Arizona Theater Company, Globe Theater San Diego, Alley Theater Houston, Actors Theater Louisville, Center Stage Baltimore, and the Stratford and Shaw Festivals in Ontario. Recent Productions: Driving Miss Daisy, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Gin Game, Great Expectations, Pygmalion, Cabaret, Pride and Prejudice, Trelawny of the Wells, Measure for Measure,The Royal Family, Volumnia in Coriolanus, 2022 Mrs Graves in Enchanted April at the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ. Over 500 TV appearances range from BBC’s Masterpiece Theatre to All My Children, Margaret Thatcher in Shades of Black, and Hermione in The Winter’s Tale on PBS Ch. 13, for which she was nominated for an Emmy. Films include: The Tomb of Ligeia, Damien:Omen 2, The Queen’s Guards, Criminal Law, Desire, Amelia.
TEACHING: LAMDA in London, York University in Toronto, Columbia University in NYC, Title 3 Project in the Boston School System, and Shakespeare at the Stella Adler Studio since January 2008.
