Adam Gerber

Adam Gerber came to The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in 2006, marking nearly 17 years in theatre and non-profit arts education. Understanding the critical need to acknowledge social inequities, the core of his work has been rooted in arts advocacy, with a focus on providing free-acting training and live productions to diverse communities that lack access to the performing arts. Off-Broadway credits include: “Wernher Von Braun” in Epic Theatre Ensemble’s first staging of The Winning Side, “Eddie Lawrence” in the New York premiere of Shear Madness (over 250 performances), and “Actor 1” in the revival of Israel Horovitz’s Lebensraum. Other favorite roles: “Associate Pastor Joshua” in Baltimore Center Stage’s The Christians, “Ryan” in Barrington Stage’s world premiere of Engagements, “Caleb” in George Street’s The Whipping Man, along with numerous appearances at The Old Globe in San Diego, including All’s Well that Ends Well, The Merchant of Venice, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Much Ado About Nothing, Antigone, Pygmalion and Othello where he has worked with world-renowned directors Adrian Noble, Nicholas Martin, Ian Talbot, Barry Edelstein, Hana Sharif, Mark Lamos, and more. Other select appearances include originating the role of “Alan Parker” in Hikobae (The Galaxy Theatre) in Tokyo, Japan. Film: Mike, Mike Tan. Adam has done extensive commercial work both on-camera and voiceover. Select bookings include: Advil, Tums, PlayStation 3, Pepsi, MTV, Stouffer’s, Spectrum, Viacom, and Pizza Hut. Over the last twelve years, Adam has taught and directed at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in both the NYU and conservatory programs. Favorites directing credits include: All’s Well that Ends Well, Henry V, The Altruists, Some Girls, The Winter’s Tale, Two Gentlemen of Verona, La Ronde, The Visit, Cloud 9 and Come Back to Five, and Dime Jimmy Dean. Additionally, he is a faculty member at The Actor’s Clinic in Tokyo, Japan where he travels to teach Stella Adler and Stanislavski-based acting workshops. Adam holds an MFA from The Old Globe/USD (Darlene Marcos Shiley Award), an MS in Strategic Communication from Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies (Heart of a Lion Award), and is a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and The George Washington University (BA). adamgerberactor.com
