Musical Theater Intensive

Impassioned acting rooted in craft is most essential in the pivotal moment when a scene becomes a song.

The Musical Theater Intensive is a cutting edge, five-week course providing rigorous musical theater training anchored in the core belief of the Stella Adler Studio, that growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous.

Combining current Broadway professionals with the Studio’s master teachers, the Musical Theater Intensive is a one-of-a-kind experience that integrates performance and analysis of the musical theater form with training in voice and speech, movement for the actor, and effective audition techniques.

Designed for the professional actor with requisite skills in song and dance, the Musical Theater Intensive immerses students into a deeper, more precise understanding of their acting ability and development of acting skills while connecting their work with the rest of the world.

Admission Information

Admission to the Musical Theater Intensive is by interview and audition. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Student visas for international study are not available for this program at this time. Applicants must be a US Citizen/Permanent Resident or already possess a currently active visa that allows for full-time study in the US. The studio will not be able to provide this visa.

Applicant must submit the following:

A completed Online Application Form
Headshot (Photo) and Resume
A $50 non-refundable application fee (payable to Stella Adler Studio of Acting, Inc)

Once the online application and supplementing materials have been received by the admissions office, an associate will contact the applicant to schedule an interview appointment. Auditions will be submitted via a video submission form.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

1. A performance of two contrasting musical selections no longer than 60 seconds in length each
2. A performance of one monologue no longer than 60 seconds in length (contemporary or classical)
