Rite of passage: student to alumnus
When you graduate from the studio, you make an important transition from being a student of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting to being an alumnus. You are joining a community of thousands of artists with whom you share common vocabulary and culture. Over the course of seven decades, graduates have taken many varying paths but our shared ideals are a tie that bind us. Please remember that the studio today, in addition to being a conservatory, is also a cultural center. We hope that your participation as an audience member and an artist in the cultural center’s programs will continue to support, challenge and encourage your growth for years to come. Here are just a few ways to stay engaged:
Think like an alum:
When you write your bio or are asked about your background, include the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
Stay connected via social media, e-mail, art series and alumni events.
Keep your contact information current with the studio. Alumni are eligible for special offers, discounts to Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company shows and more. E-mail the studio to notify us if you have new contact information.
We love to celebrate career updates – share your news using this form.
Join the official Stella Adler Studio alumni group on Facebook to connect with over 2000 alums.
Consider the studio your artistic home and drop by anytime. You are always welcome.
Other resources and opportunities:
If you are looking for a long-term meaningful volunteer opportunity, consider the Arts Justice Division. Arts Justice seeks volunteers each semester. If you are interested in becoming an ambassador or volunteer, please contact Nina Capelli, Director of Cultural Programming at nina@stellaadler.com.
Get involved with Stella Adler Studio Alumni Council (SASAC) initiatives to foster connections among alumni and contribute to the ongoing success of the studio.
If you are interested in writing, the Harold Clurman Playwrights Division is a new branch of the studio that annually accepts submissions from emerging playwrights. Interns are needed to help read scripts. Writers with complete works are invited to apply for the annual residency and ten-minute play searches.
If you are considering teaching, reach out to a department head to talk about learning and training opportunities.
